About

It is my professional mission to help create deep understanding of human experiences through thoughtful design research, and ensure that this knowledge is translated into meaningful design outcomes.

Hej hej!

I’m a design researcher and storyteller who has spent the last 8 years working with user experiences within healthcare contexts. I am originally from the United States, but I am currently located in Stockholm, Sweden.

I received my PhD in Industrial Design at Umeå Institute of Design in March 2016. My doctoral research focused upon the cancer patient experience of radiotherapy, and aimed to increase patient knowledge, participation, and power within this treatment process through design.

In addition to my doctorate, I hold dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Social Anthropology and Biology from MIT, a Master of Science in Cancer Biology from Stanford University, and a Master of Design in Designed Objects from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

My work experiences range from leading design research within a design consultancy to in-house MedTech UX research and design, with a sprinkle of innovation workshop facilitation and anti-cancer drug development.

More information is available on my resume.
